Student Name: Luciano Krutke
High School: South High School
Grade:
11

What Tech Ed classes are you currently taking, or have you taken in your high school career?

  • Intro to Engineering
  • Principles of Engineering
  • Advanced Engineering
  • Small Engines
  • Electricity
  • Electronics and Automation

Have you taken advantage of any on-site work experience opportunities? I'm currently working as a Youth Apprentice at KOHLER. I perform tasks like making detailed specification sheets for different products. This experience has shown me how to navigate and find things I need in a work setting while finding skills I may not have known I needed until now.

What other classes are you taking? Physics, Advanced Algebra, U.S. History

What activities are you involved in (clubs, organizations, sports)? I was on the Trap Shooting team.

What is your favorite thing about your Red Raider Manufacturing experience? I like the hands-on projects we work on during class and the different approaches we can explore until we find a solution that works for the task.

What are your future plans? I would like to enroll in the Air Force and go to school for engineering.

What project are you most proud of? One of the projects I had the most fun working on was a marble sorter. For this project, we had to create a machine using various materials and electronics to identify three different types of marbles and sort them into their own cups. We were required to build and code our marble sorters from scratch.

Why should a student participate in the Red Raider Manufacturing program? If you like to be hands-on or want a more technical job in the future, this is a great opportunity. Most of the work is done in class, and the things you learn will stick with you for the rest of your life.
