The Sheboygan Area School District (SASD) is proud to share the 2025 Points of Pride community report, which showcases the growth of our programs and the continued support of our community. Serving more than 9,300 students across 25 schools, we’re encouraged by the progress our students are making—particularly in comparison to similar districts—while continuing to support a diverse population.

Key highlights include:

  • Academic Growth: 68% of elementary and 65% of middle school students met or exceeded growth targets in reading; ACT performance for high school juniors remains above peer district averages.

  • Expanded Opportunities: Over 3,000 dual credit enrollments saved students $3.6 million in college tuition; more than 1,400 middle school students joined clubs or sports.

  • Student Support Services: The district provided over 6,000 mental health sessions, supported 293 homeless students, and served over 1.3 million free meals.

  • Diversity & Inclusion: More than 1,700 English learners speaking 35+ languages are supported by a dedicated multilingual team.

  • Staff Investment: SASD leads in teacher experience and retention, with nine full-day professional development days and a new Principal Development Institute.

  • Community Involvement: With nearly 1,000 students exercising school choice and a vibrant recreation program, SASD remains deeply connected to its community.

  • Fiscal Responsibility: The district's Moody’s credit rating was upgraded to Aa1, saving taxpayers over $16 million in interest costs. SASD also maintains one of the lowest property tax mill rates in the state.

  • Looking Ahead: Voters overwhelmingly approved a $121 million referendum to rebuild and renovate two middle schools, ensuring modern, safe facilities for future learners.

The SASD is sincerely grateful to the Sheboygan community for its ongoing support and commitment to public education.
