Horace Mann Middle School

About Horace Mann Middle School

The Horace Mann Middle School campus is situated on 43 acres of beautiful green space, an 800-person auditorium, three-court gymnasium, workout room, and a large soccer complex. One of our goals is to expand students’ horizons by welcoming them into an environment that will help them learn, grow, and succeed.

Education at Horace Mann Middle School

The Core academic courses of math, science, language arts, and social studies are inclusive to all students. All students participate in a variety of allied arts classes - including music, physical education, art, STEM classes, technology education, family and consumer education, world languages, and Life Readiness. These allied arts classes expose students to new concepts, skills, and experiences while providing students choices in their education.

In addition to the rigorous activities of the school day, students are encouraged to explore their interests and talents through a variety of interscholastic and extracurricular activities. Students may participate in Co-Curricular activities, Middle School Sports (basketball, volleyball, cross country, track, tennis, wrestling), and other activities like Talent Show, Student Council, Pop-Up clubs, Builders Club, and our Annual School Musical.

All of these skills and offerings provide the opportunity for students to chart their path for Academic and Career Planning (ACP) and their next steps at the secondary level. Students use 1:1 Chromebooks and have interactive technology in every classroom. As an inclusive school and meeting the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) needs of all students, we pride ourselves on meeting students where they are at and helping them reach their potential. We have responsive programs during our RtI periods (ALEKS math and Lexia reading), utilize SEL surveys to support students with our Panorama dashboard, and foster healthy relationships with Restorative Practices.

We are excited to share Horace Mann Middle School with our community and students!
