Camp Y-Koda Outdoor Skills and Education and Maywood Environmental Park partner to offer a nature-based 4K program located at Maywood Environmental Park in Sheboygan.
The mission of the Y-Koda Nature School is to provide a high quality, hands-on early childhood experiences that promotes child development and inspire a lifelong connection with nature through play. Parents are crucial to the growth and livelihood of children and community. With this in mind, there will be many opportunities throughout the year for parents to engage in the learning community, through family events, parent nights and volunteer work days.
Our program allows students to learn beyond the worksheet. At Y-Koda Nature School students will be exposed to the following educational experiences:
Students in Y-Koda Nature School will spend 50% of their day outside in all kinds of weather learning through interactions with our education animals, wildlife, plants and other resources to create a developmentally appropriate and meaningful educational experience.
The staff at Y-Koda Nature School will include one certified early childhood educator, as well as a professional staff of environmental educators and naturalists, many with advanced degrees in education or a related field.
