Insurance Details

The program year runs from November 1 through October 31 every single year.  If you (or your spouse) earn 40 points by September 30, you will be awarded two Early Bird points for the NEXT year.

The baseline employee portion of the SASD insurance premium is a 23% cost share. To earn the best discount of 12%, BOTH the employee AND the covered spouse (if applicable) must also earn at least 40 Wellness points each and complete an annual physical exam during the program year. For more information on insurance rates, refer to the Wellness Program Summary Guide.

Annual Physicals

An annual physical is required. If you do not complete an annual physical, you will not qualify for a discounted insurance premium and any Wellness points you earned will not count.

SASD insurance covers ONE physical (preventative exam) per CALENDAR year, not every 12 months. We recommend you set up your appointment as early as possible to get the day and time that works best for your schedule.
