Staff Wellness: Program Details

The Sheboygan Area School District supports and promotes an environment focused on health and well-being for staff and their families. This includes the Eight Dimensions of Wellness (Intellectual, Physical, Spiritual, Vocational, Social, Environmental, Emotional, and Financial). The District is committed to offering an integrated, comprehensive health and wellness program that improves employee health, effectiveness, and quality of life.

2020 insurance premium rates can be found by following these steps:

  1. Go to the MySASD Web Access Portal
  2. Sign In
  3. Hover over the "Departments" button below the SASD logo
  4. Click on "Business and Operational Services" 
  5. Scroll down the page to view various benefit information

Baseline Percentage

The baseline employee portion of the SASD insurance premium is a 23% cost share. ALL employees need to accumulate 125 wellness points to earn a discount on this cost-share. 

BOTH the employee and spouse (if the spouse is on the SASD insurance plan) must complete all three steps in order to qualify for insurance premium discounts.

    Meet Our New Dietician, Grace Tesmer!

    As a registered dietician, Grace will partner with you to develop a safe and realistic eating plan to help you eat healthier. She can also work with you to manage diabetes, digestive problems, manage high blood pressure, and weight gain/loss via dietary modifications. Additionally, Grace can help you boost your athletic performance. 

    Grace completed her Priority Nutrition Care Distance Dietetic Internship (based out of Hingham MA).  She completed four rotations listed below:

    • Clinical - Aurora Sinai Medical Center/Aurora Saint Lukes South Shore in Milwaukee
    • Food Service - Fresh Meals on Wheels
    • Community Nutrition - Nourish Farms
    • Elective - Aurora Psychiatric Hospital in Wauwatosa

    Meet Our New Health Coach, Alyson Krey!

    Aly’s approach to coaching is proactive and focused on prevention. She gives her patients the tools and resources to set them up for success. As a health coach, Aly encourages others to take charge of their health and well-being. Aly’s role is to educate, listen, encourage and motivate through every step of one’s journey. Health and wellness is her passion. Aly’s aim is to help you feel your best! Dietician consultation is available to SASD employees or household members.     Ease Your Mind Challenge

    Timeframe: April 1-30, 2021

    This 1-month challenge requires 15 check-ins. For the month of April, we will focus on reducing stress. Mind/body exercise can help restore you to a state of calm and relaxation. Examples include deep breathing exercises, meditation, Yoga, Tai Chi, and Qigong. Earn one point for completing at least 15 check-ins throughout the month of April.  Log into your myhealics.com dashboard to register, check-in, and share your progress. If you need assistance accessing your dashboard, call (414) 375-1600.

    These short videos provide information on a variety of health topics. Employees and spouses are encouraged to watch the video (8-10 minutes) and take a short quiz afterward. Each completion is worth 1 point. You can earn up to 5 points per program year. New videos will be added every month with a different topic!

    Soul Sculpt (Live Stream)

    Join Cyndi via Zoom (see info below) after your workday for a high-intensity yoga class that incorporates hand weights and cardio bursts. Soul Sculpt is geared for the "gym-focused" yogi who loves to sweat, build endurance, strengthen muscles, and jam to high-energy music. It can be modified for all levels. No yoga experience needed! All classes are currently VIRTUAL and are being offered FREE to you while in this format.

    Kamps Live

    As a result of temporarily closing their studios at UW Madison and UW Miami, Kamps Live, a group fitness company, is now offering digital at home "sweat sessions". No equipment needed! Simply signup at www.kampsfit.com/kampslive and they will send you links to 3-4 Zoom classes the day prior to the class. Cost is now $5 per class or $25 per month for unlimited classes.

    Next session runs May 3 - June 11.

    We have revamped our 2021 Personal Training program to help you reach your goals faster! You will meet with your personal trainer TWICE per week for 30 minutes for 6 weeks. This program is currently being offered virtually, and fitness center membership is NOT required. 

    This program is FREE for employees and spouses (you do not need to be on SASD health insurance to participate). Beginners or those who are "new-to-fitness" are encouraged to sign up. Those who need a refresher course can sign up too! Preference will be given to those who have never gone through the program before. You must complete the full program in order to earn Wellness Points (5 points are earned for the completion of the program, max 5 points for the category).

    Eligibility: SASD health insurance enrollment is NOT required

    • Value = 20 Points
    • Learn simple steps to reduce/eliminate tobacco use in your life. The Tobacco Cessation Program through Interra Health, is a 6-session program that provides education, support, encouragement, and accountability for anyone interested in eliminating tobacco use. The coaching program focuses on education and resources to help an individual create a quit plan that meets the individual's needs. When you finish, you could earn up to 20 wellness activity points!

    Healics

    Interra Health and Healics now operate under the Healics name. Your Participant ID, Password and Company ID will remain the same. Continue to manage your wellness on-the-go with the MyHealics App available at Google Play or the Apple App Store. Or, you may use a computer to access your dashboard.

    1. Login to your Dashboard
    2. Click on "Reports"
    3. Select "2020" from the drop-down list
    4. Click "Short Report"
    5. Scroll down
    6. "Biometric Score" appears on left
    7. Grade appears on the right
    8. Scroll to view results under red (high), yellow (moderately high), or green (normal) bars

    The results from your biometric screening are individually scored. Healics applies risk ratings to evaluate your results and identify areas of potential concern. For each biometric category tested, you will receive a risk rating of minimal, moderate, medium, high, or extreme risk. You will also earn points based on the risk rating received. These points make up your biometric score. The maximum amount of points/highest biometric score that can be earned during a biometric screening is 100 points. Please allow 2 weeks for your score to be uploaded as it can take that long for all your information to be completely uploaded.

    Personal Doctor

    If you are unable or choose not to participate in the Biometric Screening offered at SASD, you may submit results from your physician, provided that they have been collected between January 1, 2021 - April 3, 2021. You are responsible for ensuring that results are submitted. The deadline to submit these results is April 3, 2021. View form.

      Your overall risk score is based on risk ratings applied to all biometric values collected (systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, healthy weight calculation, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose).
