Reading Incentives throughout the year promote school-wide reading. These activities actively engage, motivate, and challenge students to read beyond the classroom walls. Reading Incentives aim to foster a love of reading, encourage reading for pleasure and entertainment, and promote the freedom to choose topics of one's own interest. Students and teachers create a monthly reading goal (number of books or reading minutes). Students track their reading progress and earn incentives as they reach their goals. Past incentives included: earning books, Book-It/Pizza Hut rewards, Bookworm Gardens field trips, Dairy Queen Incentives, and special assemblies.
