Jacob Konrath has been announced as the incoming Superintendent of the Sheboygan Area School District, effective July 1, 2024. 

The following letter was written by Sheboygan Area School District Board President Mary Lynn Donohue:

Dear SASD Families,

On behalf of the Sheboygan Area School District Board of Education, I am proud to announce Jacob Konrath has been named incoming Superintendent of the Sheboygan Area School District, effective July 1, 2024, contingent upon mutual contract agreement. Dr. Konrath is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Student and Instructional Services in the Sheboygan Area School District. He will replace Seth Harvatine, who is retiring at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Dr. Konrath applied for the Superintendent position, completing a rigorous interview process, including interviews with the Board of Education, employees of the Sheboygan Area School District, students, and parents/community members over the last several weeks.

After meeting in closed session this evening, the Board reconvened into open session and voted unanimously to approve the appointment.

Dr. Konrath has been a respected and valued employee of the Sheboygan Area School District for 17 years. He served as a Business and Information Technology Teacher at Riverview Academy (now Central High) and as Principal at Central High School and Warriner Schools before moving into district-wide leadership roles as Coordinator of Assessment, New Programs, and Charter Schools, Director of Student and Instructional Services, and currently as the Assistant Superintendent of Student and Instructional Services.

Dr. Konrath has demonstrated exceptional performance in his current and previous roles within Sheboygan Area School District, and his skill set is a perfect fit for our next Superintendent. His visionary leadership has resulted in the collaborative creation of the district’s proprietary Career and College Report Card, the ability to offer an impressive number of dual-credit college courses for high school students, and the development of many successful community partnerships to benefit our students. Dr. Konrath was also instrumental in securing a $2 million safety grant to improve security in our schools and led the creation of KidStop, our community partnership to expand before and after school child care services.

Superintendent Seth Harvatine will be working with Dr. Konrath, providing opportunities for him to learn the role throughout this school year and next school year.

I would like to share a comment from Dr. Konrath: “This is an amazing school district with a fantastic story to tell, and having the opportunity to become the next Superintendent is a dream come true. I am really looking forward to working with our dedicated staff, parents, students, and community. One of the primary strengths of the SASD is our richly diverse community and our amazing staff that support our students on a daily basis. The ‘we mentality’ will continue to be a guiding principle as we work together to implement the SASD Long Range Plan.”

Dr. Konrath earned a Bachelor's degree in Business and Information Technology Education from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership from Marquette University.
