The South High School Combined Concert Band had the distinct pleasure of being selected to perform once again at Disney World in Orlando, Florida on Thursday, March 2. Their performance consisted of five selections revolving around Wisconsin state pride, instrumental excellence, and new and classic Disney favorites. Their performance was at the Waterside Stage at Disney Springs, which is a top-performing venue and a noteable open-air stage over the water. Student teacher Elizabeth Bredman led the students in their first piece, “On, Wisconsin!”
The band, led primarily by director Wade Heinen, had to submit several recordings of past performances to be considered for this honor. Sheboygan South High School bands have continued to show mastery and acceptance into this elite opportunity each year they have traveled since 2003. The students and directors at South were proud to represent their school, city, and state at this international performance location!
