The South High Art department is excited to display its series of Outdoor Flag Banners in the community. The flags are currently on display in front of First Congregational Church near Vollrath Bowl, and were placed there for the district graduation ceremony held on Saturday, June 10. 

Artist in Residence Patty Aker worked with South High Art students to create six different flag designs related to the arts. The flags represent visual arts, dance, drama, creative writing, and classical and contemporary music. This collaborative project took seven months to create as both sides of the flags had to be painted and outlined. The banners will be on display in different locations of the city throughout the summer.
