Education at Lincoln-Erdman Elementary School

Lincoln-Erdman has a large campus including green space that has been developed into a half-mile walking trail with five study areas, called the Lincoln-Erdman Environmental and Fitness (LEEF) Trail, to enhance the science curriculum and encourage walking. The school received the Governor’s Health Award in 2007-08 and 2008-09 for their work on the trail and incorporating its use into the curriculum.

Classrooms have computers, document cameras, LCD projectors, and other technology resources to facilitate student sharing of their work and problem solving with others. Students also have access to iPads and Chromebooks that provide the opportunity for supplemental or enrichment activities.

Students enjoy enrichment activities such as Panther Plaza School Store, Spirit Days, and participation in the Junior Achievement program, an Instrumental Music Program, Math Olympiad, Geography Bee, and Reading Buddies. Students can also join after school enrichment activities such as Chess Club, Elementastic Science, Student Council, or Spanish class.

An active Parent Teacher Organization sponsors family events including an annual Halloween Party, Santa Breakfast, Art-Ala-Mode Art Show, Science Fair, and Family Fun Nights. Lincoln-Erdman developed a Panther Pals character education program with lessons taught in multi-age groups and, in 2006, was recognized as a National Schools of Character Promising Practices Award Winner.

Lincoln-Erdman also offers a four-year-old kindergarten program, operating as a satellite location of the Early Learning Center. The students attend school half-days, four days per week.
