Jazz Ensembles

JAZZ ENSEMBLE VII: These organizations give band and orchestra students an opportunity to study, rehearse, and perform works beyond the material studied in band and orchestra. These ensembles concentrate on jazz, ballads, rock, and Latin styles. Jazz Ensemble I/II rehearses before school two to three times a week and have several performances both in and outside of the school day. Membership is open to any students taking band or orchestra (guitar/piano exempt). An audition is required for Jazz 1, which occurs in late May.  Contact Mr. Heinen with questions.

Jazz Ensemble I. rehearses during zero hour on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursday for the entire school year. It is an audition only semester class that because it meets every other day goes for the entire year. Auditions for Jazz I. occur every year in late May.

Jazz Ensemble II. rehearses from 6:55-7:40 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the school year. Jazz II. is open to any and all band students interested in learning and playing jazz. If a current band student does not play an instrument found in a jazz band, Mr. Heinen will assist the student in learning how to "double" on an additional instrument.
