Social Studies

World History I is a course that focuses on developing students’ understanding of world history from approximately 8000 B.C.E.–476 C.E. Major topics of study include the Paleolithic and Neolithic Era, Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient China, Ancient Greece and the year ends with the fall of the Roman Empire. Our focus is on studying significant events, individuals and ideas that have helped shape the Ancient and Modern world. Over the course of the year, students will investigate topics of personal interest and create written and visual projects to present to the rest of the class. The goal is to build students’ knowledge of history while improving their research, writing and presentation skills.
