Bonjour! My name is Gaëlle Loriot-de Swarte, aka Madame de Swarte, and I teach all levels of French here at North High School. I'm also a College Credit in High School (CCiHS) instructor for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and offer courses for students at North who are interested in getting dual credits in French.

I worked in the Sheboygan Area District for a few years as a substitute teacher teaching pre-kindergarten through grade 12. I hold a Master’s degree in history from the Jean Moulin University Lyon 3, France. I was going to be a social studies teacher in France before my life took a few twists and turns across the Atlantic. Sheboygan has been my last stop since 2008 and I love living close to the Lake.

Teaching French, my native language, allows me to draw upon my love and knowledge of the French language and culture. The most thrilling part of learning a world language is not the destination, it's the journey. One of my biggest satisfactions in teaching comes from growing my students’ engagement and confidence to become active and compassionate global citizens.

I'm thrilled to be now part of the North High School community! Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
