    Chromebook Care

See below for answeres to frequently asked Chromebook questions.

Is there a black screen but you still have a tiny power light glowing from the right side of your Chromebook? IF so, you may only have a 'frozen' Chromebook. Try holding down the power key for about 20 seconds. Keep holding until you see the light go off. Wait 15 seconds and try to power up your Chromebook again.

Students should bring their damaged Chromebook to the North Help Desk, located in the library (room 235) to be repaired or replaced.

Summertime damages please call the Help Desk at 920.803.7695, to make arrangements for assistance.

    1. Charge it every night.
    2. Keep your Chromebook updated to the current version of Chrome. If you're not sure how to do this, here's a minute-long tutorial: Updating Chrome
    3. Limit the number of tabs that are open. The more tabs you have open, the bigger the strain on the device's "brain." This is especially true with videos, including streaming music.
    4. Remember to power off and restart your device every day. Just closing the lid isn't enough. This will help prevent problems like freezing.
