Skylert - Spring into Action

Skylert: Sent to all of our 9th, 10th, & 12th grade families and students on Sun, Mar 3...

March 3, 2024

Dear North Families of 9th, 10th, & 12th Grade Students

There is a great opportunity for all freshmen, sophomores, and seniors to make a difference in our community on Tuesday, March 12. While our juniors will be taking the ACT, the rest of our students will have an opportunity of a lifetime. Imagine:

  • making blankets for Warm the World
  • prepping for exhibits at the Children’s Museum
  • decorating peace rocks at Jake’s Cafe
  • prepping horse stables at Reins
  • making dog toys for the Humane Society
  • packing meals for the Food Bank
  • ... and much more

Why should students do this?

  • Why not? North students need 25 service hours to be college and career ready.
  • It can be fun to do with a friend or two. Volunteer all or part of the day.
  • It feels good to help others.

How?

  • Sign up with a non-profit organization in the North Field House during the school day on Tuesday, March 5. It will be super easy. Students will have an opportunity to visit over 50 non-profits during their study hall, Raider Time, or lunch time.
  • Sign up on the spot and receive information to show parents/caretakers.
  • Arrange for transportation and report to the point person at your destination (some volunteer work/sites will be at North High School).
