Trees For Sale - North Botany

January 23, 2025

This year the botany program is excited to be hosting our 4th annual Tree-Plenish event. Tree-Plenish is a national non-profit involved with reforesting K-12 school & college campuses in addition to residents' yards around the United States with the mission of offsetting local paper usage & energy consumption. To enhance the sustainability of our local environment, botany has set the goal this year to plant 300 saplings in local residents' yards, which would equate to offsetting at least 10% of our school's energy consumption. We hope that you might be willing to help us achieve this goal.

Please see our event webpage here if you would like to learn more about this event and here is the order form. All tree saplings are $7 and average in height from 1-3 feet. These bare root saplings typically range in age from 2-5 years old. This year we are excited to offer three species. Our options are flowering dogwood, red maple & river birch. If you purchase a sapling, you have the option to either pick it up on the day of the event and plant it yourself or send us your address and myself and North High student volunteers will come out and plant it for you. All proceeds from the sale go towards allowing Tree-Plenish to work towards the mission of planting 1 million trees by 2030! All orders must be placed online via the event webpage and are due on March 26th, 2025, exactly one month before our event date.

You will find more information on the day of the event below:

When: Saturday, April 26th from 9 am-noon

Where: We will have a tree pickup table set up inside the auditorium entryway by Door #10

Who: Interact Club Volunteers, Botany Student Volunteers and possibly you!

Why: This sustainability initiative helps offset carbon emissions and paper usage at North High School We are also always looking for more volunteers to facilitate the day of event logistics and here is the volunteer signup if you or any of your students may be interested in helping out.

Thanks in advance for your time & consideration. Don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions on this. It may seem like the dead of winter, but spring is just around the corner, Raiders. Then it's planting season!
