Free and Reduced Meal is a benefit available for qualifying families. It guarantees that your child is able to receive free breakfast and lunch meals at school at no cost to you. Many students qualify for free and reduced meals but not taking advantage of it.
For the 2023-24 school year, all students will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge because the Sheboygan Area School District qualifies for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program.
This government-sponsored program is completely confidential. The software used for processing applications and counting daily student meals is private and confidential; as children receive their breakfast or lunch through the school lunch line, there is no way any other person can know the financial situation of your child.
The School Nutrition Program eliminated costs to families for reduced prices meals. This means that if you qualify for “reduced-price meals” your child will be able to receive a meal completely for free at no extra charge to you. Previously there was a small price of $0.30 to $0.40 per breakfast/lunch meal. That cost will no longer apply.
